Update On The Technology Student Association Partnership from Janet Reynolds, South Atlantic Relay For Life Staff:

On behalf of the Relay For Life Business Unit, I am pleased to announce the addition of the Technology Student Association as a new nationwide youth partner organization.

TSA is a nationwide youth organization of technology education students in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. The organization boasts 170,000 members in 2000 schools across 47 states. It's goal is to prepare students for the challenges of a dynamic world through technological literacy, leadership, problem solving, and community service activities.

TSA students have chosen the American Cancer Society as their national service partner for the period of Aug 2003- Aug 2006! Former partners include the American Red Cross, Make a Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and others. While researching their next partner organization, the student board of directors for TSA spent considerable time on www.cancer.org and felt the American Cancer Society was the most respected and impact-driven organization for which they could volunteer.

The organization's leadership has committed Relay teams, fundraising dollars, volunteer hours, and information sharing in their schools to local Relay For Life events and American Cancer Society offices over the next three years.

We are pleased to have TSA as a part of the Relay and ACS family. In the coming weeks, we will be publicizing the partnership to all of TSA's membership through their website, publications, and meetings. At that time, I will distribute a list of local chapters and state advisors as contacts for your division and field staff. Until that time, please familiarize yourself with the organization so you can share with your local staff. The web address is:
